What's Happening Lately?

Ongoing VS Future Landscaping Projects

  • In an effort to preserve our mature landscaping and conserve water, an ongoing effort to create tree wells and drainage paths continues.
Rock boarders are being systematically “neatened up” such that any erosion of underlying soil is minimized.

Maintenance Update

  • Packrat abatement continues.  Justin is performing nest demolition, setting non-kill traps, low growth trimming and application of repellent product around nests. Please help us by reporting any nest or rodent sightings through the Help Desk. Please continue to request any maintenance or landscaping items through the Help Desk.

Infrastructure Repairs, Maintenance and Paint Project Updates

We are ramping up for the Phase 2 of this project to begin in February:

  • You should have received an email blast outlining the details along with a color grid which consists of a map of designated colors for each home.

  • As the project progresses, owners will be given dates when work on your individual homes will be affected. Owners are responsible for removing any wall décor and potted plants from walls, wall caps, etc. prior to painting.

  • The HOA will be responsible to trimming landscaping away from the home in preparation for masonry and painting.

A Pet Friendly Community

We love our pets at El Mirador.  Many of us own dogs, cats and even some other more exotic creatures. Please remember to keep your dogs on a leash at all times and pick up after them. Be mindful that something that might not seem like a thing to you, may be very important to another. Let's all try to be as respectful as we can so we can all enjoy each other's company.

Pick Up Your Trash

Please remember to secure your trash cans and keep those pesky Javelina from making a mess. Remind your contractors and handymen that they should be careful of debris and construction materials that might roll away, like nails! Reminders about cigarette butts being thrown in a can and not in our desert wouldn't be a bad idea either. We all want to live in a clean, trash free environment and it takes a community to keep it clean.

Creating a Culture of Inclusion

The board would LOVE fresh ideas and fresh faces! Remember, “The HOA” is US, so your voice is important.  Here are some ways to get more involved:

  • Attend Board Meetings: 1 hour every two months. This is always the 3rd Thursday of the month @6p. The date/time/place and agenda are available on elmiradorhoa.com. If you prefer to attend from the comfort of your couch, the zoom link is there too. If you would like something added to the agenda, please click on the link. We finalize the agenda 1-2 weeks prior to the meeting.

  • Join a committee. This can be a very rewarding way get a little more involved without a big time commitment.

  • Have you thought about being on the board, but don’t really understand what’s involved? Our job is, simply put, to maintain and beatify our community by utilizing our resources as efficiently as possible. You would attend a board planning session between each board meeting and vote on matters being considered on behalf of the community. Reach out to any of the current board members if you’d like to learn more. You have received a Board of Directors Nomination Form in your email. If you would like to run for the 2026-2027 El Mirador Board of Directors, Nomination forms will be coming to you soon.

An HOA functions at its best when owners feel their voice counts, and your board of elected volunteers needs YOUR active involvement to effectively represent YOU!
